Cruising Panama Canal

Wednesday, December 13, 2017
Morning, waiting for our turn to enter the canal.  Other ships are lined up also.

We sailed under the bridge which was being built.

We are headed into the canal.

These "train cars" pull us through the canal.
A view of all the people watching us go through the locks.

We watched from the bow.  There were a lot of people out there also.

A huge tanker is going out as we go in.

We are anchored in the lake for much of the day.  We enjoyed sitting out and watching the other ships on the lake.

We are going back out here.

It started to rain, so we went to "walking deck" to watch us going back through the locks.

This was a very interesting day.  The canal is a well oiled machine.  Everyone has a job and it is done to keep things moving.
It takes over an hour to go through the locks.  We went through 3 locks.  The canal is very narrow, ships barely fit.
We finished the evening by going to the piano bar.
