Another snowy day! Where is spring???
.
We visited the Boston Store visitor center.
This is a picture of what the Ohio-Erie Canal looked like
This is a model of the canal. The outside of the old Boston Store Visitors Center.
This is a model of the canal.
This is part of the trail that goes through the park.
We ate lunch at the Winking Lizard in the little town of Peninsula.
This is our view of it snowing outside.
It is really coming down!
We were well prepared for the cold weather so we will tour on!
The good news, there are not many people out braving the cold.
After lunch, we drove to the Everett Covered Bridge for a look see. It is a reconstructed bridge of the one that was originally there.
All bundled up because it was cold!
Next, was a short drive to the Heron Nests. At first look, all you saw were many nests in the tree. But as you continued to look, Herons would rise up out of the nest and fly--quite a sight!
We then hiked around the Ledges through the rocks and trees. The trees are pretty with the dusting of snow. This was a quiet hike as few people want to be out in the cold and snow.
The snow did make the Ledges feel more enchanted and peaceful.
After hearing that Beaver Marsh and Tow Path were closed, we drove by and saw that a ranger had opened the gate to Beaver Marsh. We drove in and parked and we got to walk part of the tow path. Also here was part of the canal system. On another part was part of the locks of the canal system.
The last place we went was to Brandywine Falls. They were really running because of the rain. These are incredible falls. It was still snowing on and off so did not see many people here.
As you can see, we did A Lot today!!!
After such a busy day, we were ready to had back to our hotel, La Quinta In Macedonia, Ohio.
We pretty much just relaxed and rested, getting ready for our drive to Niagara Fall the next day.
