Another Spring Outing--April 5-8

April 5.
This weekend is what we call the annual "bubba float."  I drove with the camper and Don drove with the raft trailer.  We went to Mulberry mountain for camping and rafting.

It ended up a little cooler than expected but made it ok.

April 6
We rafted from Big Eddy to Campbells on the Mulberry River.  The road to Big Eddy had a lot of mud holes, I actually went Mudding!!

The weather was pretty nice, but not toasty.  We did have a fun time.  Jen was in the boat with us.

The raft trailer worked well.  We did not have to deflate the raft after the float on Saturday.

Jen drove on back to Bentonville.. Don and I had steak before driving down to group camp for campfire.

Some reasons I like Mulberry Mountain campground over group camp:
1. Electricity!!!

2. Clean bathrooms with showers, and they are heated.

We got back to camp around 11:00 pm ish.

April 7
While most of the campers left to go home, we stayed an extra day to raft another section of the river.  We went from Redding to Turner Bend.  Nice quiet float.

Then shower, dinner and social time!

April 8
Lazy morning then packed up to go home... had a fun weekend...
Following are some of the pictures from the weekend.

We had good floating weather and even saw a waterfall.  The Mulberry river is a nice river to float because it is close and relaxing.

Some Spring Adventures---2013

We had an unusually cool spring this year.  But that did not stop us from getting out and enjoying the outdoors.
March 9-12 found us camping at Long Pool campground for a few nights.  We drove to a meeting point where Don met a friend and went for a long hike.  I did not want to go so I drove the shuttle and then drove the 4 runner with PUP in tow.  I drove from the Richland Creek area to Long Pool...
I got the PUP parked and even set it up before Don got back from the hike.
It rained that night really hard!  But the PUP stayed dry inside!  This was the first time we had camped in it during a rain storm.
With all that rain, the waterfalls were running, so on Sunday afternoon, we found a waterfall close to the camp.
Then on Monday, Don and I went waterfall hunting in the Richland Creek area.
